Despite continued economic turmoil and political uncertainty, the outlook for U.S. job seekers is good.
Nationally, unemployment dropped to 4.9 percent in January, the lowest level since 2008. In Indiana, unemployment is 4.4 percent, a rate we’ve not seen since 2007, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
So, it’s not really surprising that the number of Americans leaving jobs they don’t like is also growing. In fact, the Wall Street Journal reported in February that those who are voluntarily quitting their jobs is at a post-recession high. Both skilled and unskilled workers are confident about their ability to find jobs—and they are willing to quit their current jobs without having another lined up.
While the labor market is good for job seekers, the outlook for employers is less rosy. When unemployment is less than five percent, competition for employees in many industries grows. Have you considered whether your company would be able to replace essential workers quickly if employees decide to quit their jobs unexpectedly?
Here’s how partnering with That’s Good HR can help you avoid being caught short-handed and scrambling for qualified workers.
- We constantly look for and recruit top talent. Once job-seekers are screened and we’ve determined they meet our standards, we build long-term relationships with each of them. We also get a deeper understanding of what they are looking for in an employer and what types of job opportunities will fit their needs, lifestyles, and employment goals.
- A good employment relationship is a two-way street. We want candidates and employers to be mutually satisfied. Because we know candidates individually, we can be more thoughtful, aware, and strategic in making strong and beneficial matches.
- We don’t waste your time with candidates who aren’t interested. We know the types of positions, wages, and benefits they expect, so you can be confident that job-seekers are interested in your employment opportunities. And while candidates sometimes turn down offers or decide to quit if they find a job isn’t right for them, we work hard to try and prevent that from happening.
When the labor market is tight, it is important to ensure your business has a solid pipeline of qualified workers in place. At That’s Good HR, our staffing experts take pride in finding qualified workers that will keep you productive and profitable.
