1. Indy has seen job growth in recent years

In a spring report from The Wall Street Journal, Indy had the fourth-strongest labor market among large metropolitan areas in the U.S. And in an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Indy Chamber Chief Executive Officer Michael Huber praised the variety of fields as a major attraction for job seekers: “Indianapolis has got a growing tech sector. Indianapolis has got a growing life sciences [and] advanced manufacturing sector and a lot of people, particularly young people, I think are reevaluating their life choices and asking, ‘Is it worth it to incur the expense to be in a New York or to be in a San Francisco?'”

5. Indy’s cost of living is low

Incurring the expense of a larger city is a big reason to choose Indianapolis instead. Our city was ranked #12 in the Cheapest Places to Live in the U.S. News & World Report, and our cost of living is 2% below the national average according to Forbes. 6. Indy’s unemployment rate is lower than average

Also according to the U.S. News & World Report, the national average unemployment rate in 2020 was 8.1%, but here in Indy, that number was just 6.6%.
