I do not own a crystal ball and have not been reading palms (for long!), but I do know that even if you are not ready to start hiring this week, it will come soon and with most HR and recruiting departments decimated in the last two quarters…you better know who’s in charge of preparing your recruiting plan today!
Regardless of whom that person is, you better ask yourself if you have a plan in place…before one of your executives does it for you.
If you don’t currently have a plan you could be hurting your organization and ultimately your own career. The economy WILL turn around, you WILL need to replace some of the positions you eliminated the past 18 months. OH, and in case you didn’t know, some of your superstars that have stuck with you and have handled the workload of 3 or 4 people will probably start looking around for less stress/more money somewhere else.
